Bigger and Better

A few weeks ago I got offered a full time Critical Care Tech position in the Utah Valley Regional ER. It was crazy how it all came together really, and it was an offer I couldn't turn down. However, knowing that I would be full time at the hospital meant I couldn't keep seeing my home health patients.
For the past two years I have been doing home health care, and for the past year I have been with the company Health Watch. I learned alot and grew to love so many patients dearly, so it was a bittersweet feeling to know that I wouldn't be seeing them anymore.

I have been training for the past three weeks. This next week will be my last training week and then I am on my own! I have already learned so many new things and come home with crazy stories everyday.

I learned that I am not very good at CPR...as in CPR on real patients not the mannequins. It's a whole new experience. Some of the techs are really good and can go forever....then I get up there and i'm tired and sweating after like 30 seconds.

It has been a great experience so far and i've already seen so many crazy things. Alot of what I see doesn't bother me like I thought it would, and I guess that means I am in the right position. I am so excited to coninute on with this new career chapter of my life!

Baby Girl

It blows my mind that I have not previously blogged about this, but seeing as these events happend while I was missing from the blogging world it makes sense. Anywho... Awhile ago I posted This Blog post about how my family is being taken over by boys, and how I wish someone would give me a girl.

Dreams really do come true everybody.

Around Thanksgiving the Hansen family will finally have a little baby girl! Shayli and Kenyon came through and granted my wishes. I wish words could describe how happy I am, but they can't. I have an obsession with little babies and honestly the fact that this one is a girl makes it just that much better.

Everyone knows she is going to be one spoiled little shat....She already is.
I'm really considering turning her into my little minion.

I may have bought this oneise for her already....I was so excited for her to wear it that I tried it on Shayli's belly. Looks fabulous already right?

Kenyon also may have bought her this bib.

I'm positive this isn't the last of the cool aunt attire that I or they will be purchasing. After all I did call dibs on being the favorite. Duh.

I'm Back!

Life is crazy and to be honest blogging didn't appeal to me in the least bit during the summer. Now that fall has begun, and my life is a little bit more exciting....hopefully, I am going to try to start blogging again.

So here it goes...

Last weekend I moved in with three of my best friends, Steph, Kristen, and Shayli.
Honestly getting moved in was stressful and I hated every minute of it, but now that we are somewhat settled I am loving it.
I also love that I get to share a room with my bestie Steph. Put us together and we always have fun. Since elementary school we have done everything together, so it just wouldn't be natural if we didn't do the whole moving out thing together as well.

Here are a few pictures of our cute little apartment:

I love having a little place to call our home, and I love that I get to be with three of my favorite girls all the time.  I have already started to miss them when I haven't seen them all day.

Paying rent is something I could live without, and I miss my family, my queen sized bed, and my dog...yes my dog. We also didn't really have food until today when we went grocery shopping...which I could also live without.
Minus those few downfalls I am really excited to start this new exciting adventure in my life!

Workity Work

Worst blogger ever. I know I know.

Update:

I got hired at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center as a Psych Tech in the ER, and you can bet your bottom dollar I am thrilled as can be! I happy really to just be on at the hospital at all. I love the atmosphere, I love being a part of the patients and their healing, and I love forming relationships with people at some of their most vulnerable times. I guess you can basically say I was made to be in the medical field.

Anyway, for my job I get to go into the ER when the "psych" patients come in and sit with them one on one to make sure they don't hurt themselves or others, pull out their chords, etc. etc. So far its been pretty interesting and while i'm sure it's not the position I want to be in forever, I am quite enjoying it for now.

Boys, Boys, Boys

There are five kids in my family. One boy and four girls.
I'm sure that at times while growing up the estrogen levels may have been so high that they nearly killed my dad and brother...they somehow managed to survive.
I am convinced that my dad prayed so hard back in the day for boys, that now his prayers are finally being answered.
The family that was once ran by the ladies is now being taken over by boys.

We were lucky enough to have Sasha join the family when my brother married her, helping the girl population out a bit...still we are no match for the boys.

Two of my sisters are married giving me two more wonderful brothers.

And then there are these four......
Apparantly my siblings only know how to make boy babies.
At least they are good at it though right? They are some good looking kids and I love them to death.

As much as I love my boys....i'm crossing my fingers that someday someone will figure out how to make a girl.

Until then you can find me kissing these little hooligans faces off every chance I get.

It's love.

It's love...that's all there is to it.

I adore him too much.
Last night I stayed at Jason and Sasha's house to help with the baby. I seriously loved it. I fed him, changed him and snuggled him in between feedings allowing Sash to get some much needed sleep. I had so much fun hanging out with them, and after I left this morning Sash sent me this little gem.

I don't think he could be any more precious.

To all you married couples out there....please have all the babies you want and call auntie Cierra to babysit. That would be much appreciated.

Newest Addition

Thursday I had a 3 hour job interview at the hospital. SO long. On my way out I saw my sister-in-law Sasha who was 9 months pregnant and I asked her what the heck she was doing there! She told me that she had been bleeding and so the doctor wanted to deliver her baby that day (two weeks early). I was so crazy excited I can't even explain. The older I get the more I love babies...so I was really excited for this one.

I had to run home and see a patient and change out my interview clothes so I could come back to the hospital and camp out until the baby came. And that's exactly what I did. We went back to the hospital and hung out until it was baby time.

McCoy Marshall Hansen was born around 6:40.
Nephews-4 Nieces-0
He is seriously the sweetest and I already adore him.

My phone is full of pictures of this sweet little boy.
Welcome to the family McCoy!

Birthday Festivities!

My birthday was on April 7th, and can I just say I have the greatest friends?
Well I do!
At midnight Steph blindfolded me and took me on a drive until I had NO idea where we were. When we finally got out of the car we walked inside somewhere and I could not figure out where it was!
Once she took off the blindfold a bunch of my close friends started singing happy birthday. They even had a cake with candles! It was so sweet of them! We all stayed and chatted for a bit, and then went home to get some sleep.

After I slept in, I went to lunch with  my parents. They took me to one of my favorites...Red Lobster. After my delicious lunch, my Mom took me to the mall to pick out a new shirt for the night. My parents are the greatest:)

That night Steph picked me up at 6:30 and we met at Palomas. We then ventured down to Wingers where some of my closest friends were waiting with balloons! We had a yummy dinner and then went back to Carolines to play games and watch a movie!

I am so grateful for my thoughtful friends!!

I have completely been lacking on the whole picture taking thing lately....but here is one that Teal managed to capture!!:)

I Really Hate Goodbyes...

This weekend I had to say goodbye to one of my best friends...
Miss Samantha Brooke Warner.
She moved to San Fransisco on Saturday to nanny for a year a half.

We had a perfect last week together, and I saw her pretty much everyday. We did so many fun activities that maybe I will blog about later.

As for now now I just want everyone to know how much I love my Sammy girl.
Over the last year we have grown to be so close. We've been through lots together and I can honestly say she is one of the strongest people that I know.
She is my go-to girl when I need ANYTHING. She's the best at giving pep talks and helping me in all sorts of ways. Going on long drives with her and just jamming out is one of the greatest things ever. I am definitely better because of her. She has a light about her that everyone can see, and she never ceases to amaze me. Words can't tell you how much I will miss her, but this is going to be such a good experience and I am so excited for her!....I love you so much Sam, you are the best!!

 Bowling night!

At her going away party

We just love her

Saying goodbye....SO sad:(

The dreadful.

If you were wondering if I hate job hunting....

I DO.

Took my resume into a million (really like 5) places today. Most of which weren't even hiring, but I left it with them anyway.
I plan on doing the same exact thing tomorrow hoping that someday someone, at one of the billions of places I go, will hire me.

Please someone put me out of my misery.

Weekend Diaries

Saturday:

Slept in.

Dad took me on a date to lunch, the movie This Means War, and Farrs for ice cream.

That night I went to a roller derby with myf riends. So entertaining.

We then decided to go to the foam party...it was totally worth waiting in the huge line freezing our bums off, and paying ten dollars.

Sunday:

Went to two farewells.

Celebrated St. Aj's day.

Had a girls night and made a time capsule predicting our lives for the next 5 years.

It was a pretty darn great weekend if ask me.

Here We Go

OH BOY.
I've been tagged.
Thanks to my lovely sister Shayli.

THE RULES:
-Post these rules
-Post a photo and eleven random things about yourself
-Answer the questions provided by the one who tagged you
-Create eleven new questions for the people you tag
-Contact those you choose and let them know they've been tagged

11 Random Facts:

1) I can sleep unnatural amounts. Its seriously ridiculous, but wonderful all at the same time.

2) I am addicted to a billion T.V. series. Literally addicted. Please don't tell me to start watching a series because I won't be able to stop.

3) I am a die hard animal lover. The older I get the more I seem to love them, and honestly I would have a dozen if I could. Call me the crazy animal lady...I can't help myself.

4) In 5th grade I was 5'2". Today I am still 5'2". I haven't grown an inch in 8 years.

5) I absolutely love to be out in the sunshine. I could lay out all day everday. Vitamin D and I get along very well.

6) I love having my arm/back/anything tickled. If you are sitting next to me be prepared to have my arm flung at you (i'm convinced it's my natural reflex). All of my friends HATE that I do this, but some of them are still little gems, meaning I can usually convince them to help a girl out;)

7) I love the foamy flouride they give you at the dentist.

8) I paint my nails a different color almost every day. Its sort of out of control.

9) I love music and I am constantly finding new songs and artists to listen to

10) I love to travel, and if my budget allowed, I would be somewhere new every other week.

11) I don't like water. Yes I know i'm crazy right? Don't get me wrong if i'm out in the hot sun or working out it's wonderful, but on most other occasions I would prefer almost anything to water. Propel water on the other hand, is the greatest invention ever.

The Questions:
1. What movie star do you fantasize about? (we all have one)
Well I don't think Ryan Sheckler counts as a movie star...so I would probably have to say Ryan Gosling, he's wonderful.

2. How many kids do you want to have?
3 or 4 probably. Unless I decide to adopt and then 5 would be my limit.

3. What soundtrack would be the theme song for your life?
This one is a hard one...maybe And Run by He Is We.

4. Chick flicks or horror movies?
I really love them both. They are tied. I would choose either one depending on my mood.

5. What is your dream car?
The Mercedes-Benz G Class. It's beautiful. Or a Range Rover. I would take either one in a heart beat.

6. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Hopefully married. Being done or almost done with school, and maybe I will have a kid by then.

7. Dogs or Cats?
I told you I am an animal lover of all sorts, but dogs all the way. Many of you know I am obsessed with my dog. They are the best animal there is.

8. If you were stranded on a deserted island and could have one person and one object with you who/what would you choose
Since I do not have a significant other, I would be happy to bring along any one of my best friends or family members who would be willing to be stranded with me and keep me laughing and entertained. As for an object...maybe a tooth brush. The thought of not being able to brush my teeth gives me nightmares.

9. What body part in a man are you most attracted to?
Eyes, teeth, and abs. All of those are good.

10. If you could only have one more treat the rest of your life what would it be?
Chocolate chip cookies are my favorite and when you combine them with ice cream its even better....so probably a pazookie?

Questions for the tagged:

1.What is your guilty pleasure?
2.What is your all time favorite movie?
3. If you could have one talent what would it be?
4.Biggest Pet Peeve?
5. Best day of your life?
6. Worst Day of your life?
7. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
8. Favorite accessory?
9. How many kids do you want?
10. What is your biggest dream or desire in life?

Alright, I Tag:

Goodbye Alcatraz!

My LONG journey is over.
I finally finished my medical assisting externship, or Alcatraz as Shayli Johnst calls it, and I am so happy! It's the last thing I had to complete after all the class work and pass offs (which took forever), to finally get my Medical Assisting certificate.
Now I just have to find a job....easier said than done. If anyone knows of any Doctor's offices that are hiring let me know:)
It will be nice to finally be getting paid for working instead of just slaving away. Don't get me wrong, I really did enjoy it.
The Doctor's office I did my externship at was too good! I loved the people there. We got along so well and they were so kind and patient in teaching me everything I needed to know, even when I made mistakes (and I made plenty of them). I absolutely loved it, and I will be missing them all dearly. I already do.
Working with Pediatrics, especially the newborn babies, was so much fun and I am so glad I got that opportunity.

So here's to my third, and hopefully not last, medical milestone, becoming a Medical Assistant! Woot Woot!

...Seriously that 7-Up I am drinking is soo good. Diet mixed berry. It's a "limited time only" flavor, and I feel that the"limited time" is up. The Doctor had a case of it in the fridge and that seems to be the only place I can find it. So, if you ever happen to stumble across it 1)Taste it.  2) Inform me of where you found it.

Week at a Glance

Last weekend we went down to my Grandparent's house who live just outside of Capitol Reef in town Called Torrey, Utah. It's this cute little town that I absolutely adore.  We celebrated my Grandpa Hansen's 85th birthday. It is always such a nice weekend get away, and I especially loved being with the whole Hansen clan.

Valentines day was just an ordinary day. I suppose when you don't have a significant other thats about all it can be. It was stress-free and unless i'm head over heels for someone, that's exactly how I like it.:)

Today my little sister, her friend, myself and my dog all took a little trip down to the lake. Utah is such a beautiful place in all its seasons. Although it was cold outside, the sun was out and it was a lovely day to take a walk by the lake and enjoy it's beauty!

Signed, Sealed, Delivered.

Well it happened. Shayli, Kristen, Steph and I all signed contracts to move out in August. We also got our confirmation emails saying we had been accepted. My mom started crying when I recieved my email. Apparantly I am a joy to have around.

I have a job interview in the morning and I am not excited. I am nervous. I hate job interviews. I know what I am supposed to say and do I just don't care for them. They are nerve racking. Of course I want the job, but I am not getting my hopes up. Others want it too. I did however feel the need to buy an outfit for this occassion and I justifed by saying:

1) If I don't get this job, I will have to go to more interviews and I will need this super cute outfit then too.
2) If I spend money on this outfit right now, it might help me get a job so I can make more money.
3) I am always in need of church clothes and I can wear this outfit to church too.

Pretty good justification if you ask me. It worked. I bought a new outfit.
I'll report back on the interview.

Just the Best Day

We all have that celebrity crush....
The one we day dream about. Mine happens to be Ryan Sheckler and has been since Jr. High.

Anyways, if you read my post below about the X Games, I mentioned that Saturday was the best day ever. Here's the story behind it:

We got to the Games and started to walk around collecting the free stuff they were handing out, and noticed there was a Red Bull loft giving away free Red Bull.
We obviously couldn't turn it down, so we headed over.

Inside the loft Jessie noticed a white board on the wall that said "Autograph Signing: Ryan Sheckler 4:30"
She looked at me and we shared a look of disappointment thinking we had missed him. (really my heart felt a little crushed, but whatever), that is until we realized it was only 3:45.
Idiot move right?
I can't even tell you how excited I was.
I Cierra Jae Hansen was going to meet Ryan Sheckler.

Waiting in that line made me quite possibly the most anxious I have ever been.

Finally we got inside, and there were 3 snowboarders also signing autographs. He was the last one on the table, and I could not have been more exstatic to get to him.
He was super nice and he was even more beautiful in person than he is on tv.  He signed a poster for me and we took pictures.
Definitely the highlight of the trip.

Call me crazy but I love him. How could you not?

Winter X Games 2012

One of my dear besties, Jessie, invited me on a weekend getaway to Colorado because her friend Porter got tickets for the Winter X Games.
Although I had never met Porter or the friend he was bringing, I was down for the adventure.

They picked me up Friday afternoon and we became instant friends.

It's about a 7 hour drive to Aspen, and when we got there we went straight to the games to see Snowboarding Big Air. We hurried and tried to throw on warm clothes, but I don't think any of us realized how cold it was actually going to be.
Whether or not I have ever been as cold as I was the first night is debatable. However, It was fun.

Porter has some family friends that live about 45 minutes away from where the games take place so we got to stay with them. They were probably some of the nicest people I have ever met, and they welcomed us girls, who were complete strangers, into their home.

Down the street they had a little apartment and that's where me and jessie got to stay, while the boys stayed at the house. They had the fridge, freezer and counter loaded with food and drinks for us. It was better than any hotel, and best of all it was free.

Saturday we woke up, ate breakfast, and then decided to go shoot the potato gun that Porter had brought along. Its crazy how far it will shoot the potatoes. It was so much fun.
We then headed to the X Games for day #2.
This was the greatest day ever. (I'll blog about why next)
We were much more prepared for the cold this day.
Dont get me wrong, It was still freezing, but with our prepardness it was managable.

We walked around to all the tents where they were giving out a whole lot of free stuff (red bull, beef jerky, posters, bottles of hot sauce, etc. )
We watched some more events and then headed back to the house for some pizza and ice cream. (also compliments of the family friends).

Sunday was our day to come home....unfortunately. We got everything packed up and headed to the X Games for one last time. We got to watch Shaun White on the Half Pipe and that was pretty exciting. He is ridiculously amazing at what he does. It blows my mind what these atheletes are capable of.

After the games we began our journey home. It was a long drive and I miss Colorado already. I really needed a getaway, and this was the perfect weekend. So thank you Jessie, Porter and Dustin for making it so much fun!

It's fine really

I am fully aware that I have been completely M.I.A. from the blogging world, however I've still managed to stalk everyone. I'm sure I will get back into the blogging mode eventually. Don't fret people (cause I know you were)
